"Domains" in your quote means the game element, not some not-otherwise-recognized secret font of divine power. If we're going to be pedantic, then they aren't something you "draw power from," they're something you "connect to." I can also connect a cleric to a wall, with the use of a chain. Mulhorand, Unther, Maztica, Kara-Tur, Zakhara, Osse, Anchorome, Aurune, Katashaka, Myrmidune, Tabaxiland, Malatra, Mahasarpa and Umbrar are all exempt from having to deal with Kelemvor at all. Note that the godly worship restriction is limited to the areas governed by the Faerûnian pantheon. ![]() Similarly, if a cleric of Lathander traveled to Oerth, broke his vows, and did not take up worship of a new deity, on death his soul would return to the Fugue Plain, where he would be judged False for having abandoned his god. So, for instance, a cleric of Pelor traveling to the Forgotten Realms would have her spells granted by Lathander, even though she prays to Pelor, and when she dies her soul would travel to Pelor's divine realm even if she were in the Realms at the time. Both Eberron and Oerth have deities, the former a bit more nebulous than the latter.īy dint of the deal that all major pantheons get into, a cleric traveling from one sphere (Oerth, say) to another (Toril) is provided divine power to act in her god's name by an appropriate cognate deity. Your question seems confusing "domains" aren't a thing you worship or draw power from, they're the two things a cleric selects from a list in order to get additional powers and extra spells. ![]() Or you could just say his name and summon him. I like to believe they are just as powerful seeing how they can cast Miracle and the like, and that the Faerun deities did something special collaboratively to block access to these powerful divine forces (like building a chinese wall), but because they cannot touch the Eberron or Greyhawk domains, I believe they cannot block them without performing a full scale divine invasion to conquer Eberron and Greyhawk. So the question is, are the domains' divine forces just as powerful and unstoppable as a deity? Or are they weaker and totally blockable? ![]() If the Eberron or Greyhawk cleric worshiped a deity instead of being deityless, we know for sure there is no way the Faerun deities can block the Eberron or Greyhawk deity in short of closing all access to the shadow plane. ![]() So now you're suggesting the Deities can magically block divine power from flowing through the shadow plane and to the Eberron or Greyhawk cleric, but here's the thing. There is no chinese wall around these lakes and the Faerun Deities can't build a chinese wall around these lakes, so they have no way of stopping people from drawing water from these lakes. Kind of like a gate keeper who built a chinese wall around a lake to prevent anyone from drawing water from the lake.īut the domains powering this Eberron or Greyhawk cleric is unhindered, and completely out of the Faerun deities' reach. I like to think that the Faerun gods have full control of all domains in Faerun and blocks divine spellcasters from accessing these domains. The worship a deity rule is very heavily enforced and I am note sure you would not be blocked.ĭomains are divine forces the cleric taps into for spells. Two, Faerun is special and I am not sure this would work.
